McCaig-Welles & Rosenthal As of March 2008, McCaig-Welles and Michael Rosenthal Contemporary Art have joined forces to become "McCaig-Welles & Rosenthal" with galleries in Brooklyn and San Francisco/Redwood City. The merger’s primary goal is to enable artists to exhibit their workin New York and San Francisco in an innovative and exciting program. McCaig-Welles Gallery, owned by Melissa McCaig-Welles, officially opened its doors in December 2000 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Eight years later, the gallery continues to focus on cutting edge artists who have exhibited in solo shows and art fairs all over the world. A few exhibitions each year are also devoted to young and emerging Brooklyn-based artists with studios in the neighborhood. In its first year of operation, Michael Rosenthal Contemporary Art has realized many significant goals and achieved major success. The gallery has developed an exciting and vibrant program of emerging and mid-career artists while simultaneously developing an art center in Redwood City, which was once considered "culture-deprived." The gallery also was invited to three major art fairs, both nationally and internationally: Bridge (London), Red Dot (Miami) and Art Now (NYC). Working together, we plan to broaden the current programs with provocative, new and cutting edge work while continuing to focus on the development of our current artists. Our upcoming program includes exhibitions by contemporary artists showing a wide breadth of work |
